A team of developers represented Williams Forrest at the 2013 TechCrunch Disrupt Hackathon, April 27th-April 28th, in New York City. The Hackathon attracts talent from start-ups and companies both big and small from all over the world, including Microsoft, Amazon, Facebook and Foursquare. The Hackathon kicked off several days of events in the highly anticipated TechCrunch Disrupt NYC. Within a 24-hour period, we strategized, built and launched a functioning, responsive mobile web app called BarBlast (www.barblast.me). Using Amazon web services as well as Twilio and FourSquare APIs, the app automatically sends text messages to notify users of spontaneous happy hour events. Williams Forrest and partner agency AgileCat recently completed a total refresh of both the front-end design and back-end architecture of The Electric Factory website. The Electric Factory, an iconic national brand for live music based in Philadelphia, was in need of a website that was as strong as the venue’s reputation. AgileCat provided the design enhancements with Williams Forrest being responsible for the design and development of a leading-edge enterprise web solution. The site’s purpose-designed and built logical architecture and Content Management System (CMS) are fundamental parts of this premium solution. With the ability to easily update and customize the site, The Electric Factory can keep things fresh, informative, and appealing. Without a doubt, the new website is sure to attract even more music loving users to the site as well as the venue.
The Williams Forrest Independent QA Team recently partnered with NYC agency Campfire in support of their work for Bravo TV's new series, "Start-Ups: Silicon Valley." As part of Campfire's digital marketing campaign to drive buzz for the new show, the agency created Silicon Valley Status, a web-based, mobile-optimized user experience that measures and ranks your social influence by utilizing data from Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Users can then compare themselves to friends in their network, as well as SVS cast members. The Williams Forrest QA Team tested the algorithm for the SVS score, as well as full operability and functionality testing for the solution website.
Williams Forrest once again teamed-up with creative agency partner Campfire in support of their work for Capital One's Fiscal U Program. Fiscal U is a financial literacy program for collegiate athletes to help guide their future financial choices. Campfire created a personalized interactive web experience that lets athletes peer into their financial future and see how their decisions will affect them. At the end of the online course, users can add their names to the leaderboard to find out how their financial smarts stack up against other athletes at their schools. The Williams Forrest Independent QA Team provided complete testing on the website for all content, functionality, and cross browser verification.
Williams Forrest sent a team of four developers to the AT&T Developer Summit in Las Vegas to continue development of the company’s Fresh application. Fresh, a virtual farmers market, will launch in Spring 2013. The summit allowed the team to further refine the strategy of the application and they learned a great deal about new IDEs, SDKs and APIs that can help leverage Fresh’s functionality. Valuable interactions with other developers and the judges gave Williams Forrest invaluable, real time feedback on Fresh. Fresh allows users to share information about local, fresh produce. Williams Forrest took home the top prize at the Sustainability Hackathon sponsored by BMW i in NYC November 16-18. Teaming up with agency kbs+ and representing their mutual client BMW NA, the team spent the weekend conceiving, creating and coding "Fresh" – an app Williams Forrest plans to take to market. The app is a virtual farmers market for individuals and small farms to share information about locally available products. The app promotes one of Williams Forrest’s key values – sustainability. Williams Forrest made their mark at the 2012 TopSpin Charity Event with their digital offering and by winning the Corporate Team Challenge tournament. The charity hosts an annual party and Ping-Pong tournament to raise awareness and funds for educational nonprofits in New York City. Serving as a partner to TopSpin, Williams Forrest provided a live digital leaderboard, an in-event mobile app and new web and social channel experiences. In the tournament, Williams Forrest was amongst corporate teams from the NFL, the Brooklyn Nets, the NBA, the New York Knicks, the WWE, Sprint, MLS, and others.

Philadelphia's renowned contemporary restaurant Fork recently got a new online look thanks to Williams Forrest. Working with our key strategic partner Paragraph, Inc., Williams Forrest created a site that allows patrons of the Old City eatery to make reservations as well as view menus and specials. The new website also showcases news and other key restaurant accolades, making it easy for potential diners to plan a visit, and, you know, dig in.
In Indianapolis this September, BMW welcomed owners and golf enthusiasts to the ultimate golf experience at the exclusive BMW Golf Championship Owners' Pavilion. To generate interest and awareness for the event among golf-loving BMW loyalists, BMW counted on the Williams Forrest Solutions Design and Development team. Modeled after one of the central points of the event – the actual Owners' Pavilion - the BMW Golf Championship website offers users a premium online experience that allows users to feel as though they are actually at the event itself. With its video and web production team on-site at the event, Williams Forrest captured daily highlights from each round of play for viewing online at the Owners Pavilion website. Williams Forrest, in partnership with Euro RSCG New York, recently launched the "What Would You Wear?" Volvo Facebook application in conjunction with the release of Summit Entertainment's "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1." Euro RSCG New York tapped Williams Forrest to develop the application as part of Volvo's international promotional strategy for the movie. The customizable solution was designed to work in multiple international markets, integrate with the existing client CMS and handle heavy traffic volumes. As a result, thousands of Twilight fans throughout the U.S, Belgium, France, Italy, South Africa and the U.K. have taken part in the online challenge, building anticipation for the movie and increased awareness of the Volvo brand.
One of the country's best-loved natural assets is blazing new trails in the digital marketing communications arena, thanks to the recently redesigned www.appalachiantrail.org. Designed and developed by Williams Forrest in collaboration with the Appalachian Trail Conservancy, the site engages users with a trail-inspired user interface, optimized information architecture and experience design. Since its April 2011 launch, the website has inspired increased interest, donations and volunteerism - and is doing its part to ensure the trail is protected and maintained for future generations to experience and enjoy.
On-the-go patients can now access the valuable, sometimes crucial, information they need about local healthcare from LGH Mobile, a new mobile channel developed by Williams Forrest in cooperation with Lancaster General Health. With its simple user interface design and key mobile functionalities, the new site makes it easier for mobile users to get information on local healthcare services, LGH locations and area doctors. With help from Williams Forrest, LGH is meeting the evolving needs and preferences of their increasingly mobile patient community.
With an application as robust as the PUMA AG iPad Shoe Configurator, it's got to work. Boasting billions of possible color, material and shoe style combinations, independent QA testing was a top priority for the well-known brand's agency partner, Kirshenbaum Bond Senecal + Partners (kbs+p). They in turn tapped frequent QA services partner Williams Forrest to test the application and its integration into PUMA's in-store POS and order fulfillment system. Using the proprietary testing framework Willow™, the Williams Forrest Independent QA team supplied integrated functionality and content accuracy testing as well as web services testing using a custom-built test harness. The result? A seamless system for any PUMA loyalist to design, purchase and receive custom-designed kicks.
